A white Christmas is out of the question here in Southern California, so I’m dreaming of rich lip shades and glitzy eyeshadows instead. Whether you’re hitting a holiday party, visiting family, or just catching up with old friends over hot cocoa, these are your must-have beauty buys for the holiday season.
If you haven’t tried the highly rated Anastasia Beverly Hills makeup line, now is the time. The limited edition Prism Eyeshadow Palette is just what you need for that extra glitzy holiday party. A bit more festive and sparkly than the popular Subculture Palette, the Prism Palette comes with fourteen highly pigmented shades in ultra-matte, duo chrome, and metallic finishes. I love pairing the sparkly, deep blue green shade Throne with the matte, electric green shade Sphere for a phenomenal juxtaposition. Find more ideas on how to pair these shades here. This palette comes out to $42, and is well worth the spend.
If laying down $42 for eyeshadow isn’t your cup of tea, check out Colour Pop. This very reasonably priced LA brand just arrived at Sephora, and though I haven’t personally purchased them yet, all my friends are head over heels for their cream-powder eyeshadows. Highly pigmented and only $5 a pop.
Spice up your eyeliner game with a limited edition eyeliner from Fenty Beauty, Rihanna’s 100% cruelty free beauty line. Eclipse lets you choose your own finish – subtle or full on sparkle. Here’s how: first, apply the eyeliner. Then, when it is dry, rub the eyeliner with your finger or a q-tip to see the eyeliner change from a subtle metallic feel to a more glitzy sparkle. All three shades offered feel perfect for the holidays, but my shade of choice is the rich, emerald Nepturnt. Pick up your favorite shade for $20!
While we’re on the subject of Fenty, let’s take a gander at these limited edition metallic lipsticks. You’ll see in the featured image at the top of this article that I’m wearing Sci-Fly – a jewel tone shade that’s perfect for the winter months. I love the wet lip look this lipstick gives. Available in four shades at $19 each.
Falsies are a holiday staple. This year I’m taking the advice of my beauty goddess friend Vanessa and skipping the more expensive brands. Instead, I’ll be grabbing some Ardell lashes: not only do they have a far better texture than more expensive lashes, they are also lighter and easier to keep on. $17.99 for a set of five!
Dry winter air can do a number on your skin. I stay moisturized and protected from the elements with this tinted moisturizer from W3LL PEOPLE. Other than producing phenomenal products, W3LL PEOPLE is socially conscious and is one of my favorite sources for non-toxic, cruelty free makeup. Grab this lifesaver for $28.99.
Let’s be honest- at some point this holiday season, you’re gonna wake up feeling like you got hit by a truck the night before. Save face at work or in front of family with this amazing primer and setting spray, which will leave you feeling replenished and refreshed. Plus, Too Faced is cruelty-free! Pick up this great find for $32.
If you’re looking for a dramatic lipstick on the cheap, check out Liquid Suede: its super lightweight, feels great, and comes in 24 fun, bold shades. I love the highly pigmented demi-matte finish. These affordable lipsticks go for $6.99 a piece, but you can snag the special edition 24 set for $64.99 here.
Happy shopping, Honeys!
